Over 40 makeup junkie ideas for self tanning that face!

If your over 40 skin is anything like mine, my face is the absolute hardest part of my body to tan, for a couple of reasons. First is that I have such unevenness to my skin tone and it never tans evenly, but also I use such high sunscreen that it never matches the tan color to my chest and neck areas......it's always something isn't it! So here are a few tips to self tanning that beautiful face!!

1.) Start by exfoliating the skin with either a scrub or a peel but be sure that what you choose is oil free because oil can keep the self tanner from absorbing properly. Then you can lightly moisturize around your nostrils and other dry spots with an oil free lotion which will aid in preventing streaks.

2.) It is best to use a gradual tanning formula, it may take 2-4 applications to achieve your preferred shade but I think it is better to go slow as to insure you get what you want and not have too much color in 1 application and then your stuck! So, blend a dime sized (give or take) amount of your tanner and blend in the areas in which you naturally tan; your forehead, the apple of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your chin. Blend outward from the areas, remember to use a light hand around the nostrils and upper lip because these areas pick up more color due to the fact that they tend to be drier. Continue to feather the product out to the hairline and jawbone area, avoiding the eyelids and eyebrows which could turn these areas orange looking. NO CARROT COLOR GIRLS!

I hopes this helps in the ever so intimidating art of using self tanners!!! MUAH!
