WHAT A PRETTY PUCKER!

Morning Ladies....huh um, and some gents!  Hope all is well this fine Thursday!  I was pondering on what topic to dive into today and I kept thinking about our lips!!  I am not a bold lip person, I always feel like I have a blinking light on my face when I do a full lip, I am more the bold eye, soft lip kinda girl!  Problem with that is a soft lip for me entails more of a lip gloss finish which does not have too much staying power, which means a lot of reapplying.......which gets really old, but I gotta do what I gotta do.  So, I thought I would give my recommendation on how to get your lipstick to stay a little longer and to keep it from fading!!!

~ Like I have said in the past, prep your surface......and that means your lips too!!!  So exfoliate with a lip scrub, or wet your lips with warm water and gently rub with a warm wash cloth or toothbrush as to remove any dead flaky unwanted skin. (Exfoliating encourages old cells to slough off and replaces them with smoother cells underneath which again aids in the reduction of the unwanted "Feathering" appearance) I use and LOVE....

This is *FRXtion Sugar Exfoliating lip balm from Tarte*, it has a sugar scrub on one side and a wonderful lip balm on the other!  Also has a little mirror in the lid.......SWEET!  You can find this product at your nearest Ulta store and runs around $15.00!!!  LOVE ULTA!!!

~ Apply a lip primer, rub your lips together and let it get into your skin and absorb. I currently use and LOVE......

This is a "Prep & Prime" by *MAC* and runs around $15.00 as well and can be found at any MAC counter or online!

~ Use your lip liner pencil of your choice and lightly line and fill in your lips, this helps with lipstick feathering and will assist your lip stick color to stay on a bit longer! (The pigment in your pencil needs to be of a higher grade, try Chanel or Mac brands, better pigment also aids in the reduction of "Feathering")
~ Take a makeup puff or powder brush and apply a light dusting of powder over your lips.
~ Now apply a coat of lipstick over the entire lip area, I like to apply my lip stick with my finger or with a lip brush.  You get it into the lips a little better and have more control over where you want it!
~ Blot lightly and reapply a second coat.
~ If you prefer a pouty lip then apply a bit of gloss on the middle of your bottom lip

  1. Great tips Rainee. Can't wait to try the sugar scrub lip balm. Sounds like something I could use since my lips get very dry. Thanks!
