Makeup Junkie's help on the great shadow debate!!!

O.k. girls, so here it is.....the burning question that wakes you up in the middle of the night when you thought it was too much late night iced tea kickin in!!!  Nope, you know what it is.......
WHAT THE HECK KIND OF EYESHADOW DO I BUY???????

I posted earlier in the year about the difference in eye shadow types, such as:
~ Matte
~ Shimmer
~ Glitter
~ Velvet
~ Satin......and on and on aaaaaand on!
BUT, what is the best places or the best ways to wear all the different choices of finishes you ask, well let me try and direct thou path sista's!

*First off, you will always want to find a really nice light highlighter color("Kitten" by Stila ~ "Blunt" by Urban Decay) to place on the brow bone (that is the area directly under your eye brow's)and the inner corner of the eye area, you would usually use something in the shimmer/sparkle family.....us older beauties would probably not need to go the real sparkly/glitter route, due to the fact we probably do not want to be one of "those" women who are trying to done our ever so lovely teenage years look with our makeup, but our boobs are hanging to our knee's.....and you know you've seen it......So if your feeling a little less teenager'ish......stick with a good honest shimmer, leave the glitter for special occasions, holiday's and halloween!!

*I like to use a really good matte color on my lid area, just to give it a good foundation of color("Naked" by Urban Decay ~ "Omega" by MAC ~ "ABC Gum" by Urban Decay).  I will also use a slight shimmer color on the  middle of the lid as well, it opens up the eye, and depending on the mood I'm in,  sometimes I'm feeling a little froggy and go hog wild and use shimmer.....ALOT!  But when I need to tone it down a bit, I opt for a more all over matte use with a little shimmer right in the middle of my lid.

*And always remember to use a color in the crease of your lid, this gives a little bit of a sultry illusion to the eye, and we all need a little sultry from time to time girls!  You can use a good "go to" color in the dark grey to black ("Carbon" by MAC)or deep brown's("Rapture" by Smashbox ~ "Mulch" by MAC), or opt for a brighter more colorful look by choosing some great plums("FIG 1" BY MAC), charcoal blues("Preppy Look" by Sephora) or greens for the crease, just make sure to blend, blend, blend.....I cannot stress enough how important this step is, get a good fluffy brush(# 224 by MAC) and keep going over the colors in circular motion, or use the ever popular "Windshield Wiper" move to give you a good even, blended look.  And for our aging eyes that seem to be getting more droopy by the day, try to not go past the point of your eyebrow's, make an imaginary line from the corner of your lashes to the outside corner of your eyebrows, you want the illusion of our eyes going up....not out and down!  If you need to tweak those eyebrows, then have at it.....but do so a little bit at a time, it's better to start with just a few then to go pluck happy and get yourself in a pickle!

But I encourage you to buy some different eyeshadow finishes and just experiment with what you like and what you are comfortable with, the possibilities are truly endless!!!!
