GREAT BEAUTY TIPS from Makeup Junkie!!!

Just throwing some little tid-bits out there, some may be helpful, some you may already know!!
~Dab a creamy highlighter underneath the arch of the brow to lift the brow and make the eyes look wider.  Add a touch above the cupid's bow to make your lips appear fuller!!
~Go for a yellow based concealer, as it will help to camouflage red or purple tones in those annoying blemishes!
~For us older more "mature" beauties, sometimes brown mascara's and eyeliner's are more flattering than the harsh look of BLACK, and gel and liquid liners may be too harsh., but you can dampen your brush and use your eyeshadow as a liner, this will flow a little easier over fine lines!
~Use a flesh toned eyeliner on the inner rim of your eyes to make them appear wider and to help neutralize any redness.  Pale eyeliner inside the eye creates a more open-eye effect, while dark eyeliner inside the ye creates a more elongated focus to the width of the eye!
~I you have thin or very sparse eyelashes, use an eyeliner to full in any gaps between the lashes and lightly dust them with powder in between coats of mascara to add volume!
~If you suffer from oily skin, invest in a little packet of "Blotting Clothes", they are easy to carry in your purse and are better for quick fixes than powder!
~Before applying your face regime, cleanse your face and finish with a quick splash of cold water, this will close the pores and make them less noticeable!
~Be sure to cleanse your face really well before applying your heavier night creams.  You must make sure that there are no oil's or dirt in your pores, if there is and you apply the night creams you could run the chance that your pores will get blocked which will cause blemishes!
~For really tough waterproof eyeliner or mascara, use a Q-tip dipped in an oil based cleanser to remove, I use good ole Olive oil!
~Try using a night cream that stimulates cell regeneration. Skin repairs itself at night and the temperature of the skin increases during sleep, aiding in the ability to absorb the ingredients!

So there you have it, hope these were help full!!!

  1. I just clicked over from Facebook and have already read at least three things I need to write down to take with me next time I'm in Sephora ;) THANKS!

Do you have a good light/"flesh toned" eyeliner you recommend? So far most of what I've seen is white but it tends to have a bit of a gray tint to it. I haven't had a chance to look at Ulta or Sephora but am willing to pay a little more if it looks good and stays put!

  2. I use a great one by Chanel, it's the perfect flesh colored kohl pencil for the eyes. You will pay a little more of course but like you, it's one of the only ones that doesn't look very white!

    Intense Eye Pencil

    Glad I could help!!!!!

  3. ooh! thanks! my under eye area gets wrinkly after I put my foundation on, concealor and then eye shadow. It's very odd - do you know how I can stop my under eye area from looking so awful? Also - do you have suggestions for GOOD eye creams? Ones that deliver and just don't have empty promises?

  4. STEPHANIE, try a face primer and gently apply under the first before even concealer. The primer acts a a "line filler" and will aid in not letting other products settle into those fine lines that we love to hate!!! And make sure your concealer isn't too heavy for the ever so thin skinned under eye area, if it's to "cakey" it will look horrible. Your best bet would be a liquid or light cream concealer. My suggestion is to visit a local Sephora store, they will give you as many samples as you need and that way your not our any money and can have to luxury of trying before you buy!!
And as for eye cream, I use and really am pleased with the Lancome "Genefique Eye" and the Lancome "Renergie Lift Volumetry Eye"....nothing will completely remove those lines unless you want to visit your friendly plastic surgeon....but these products seem to keep the "appearance" a little more do-able!!
You should "Follow" my blog girl!! Hope this helped you!!! MUAH!
